Mariko Ghanem is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor in California. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University.

With a strong commitment to continuous learning, Mariko has pursued additional certifications as a Domestic Violence Advocate, Emergency Medical Technician, and Dialectical Behavior Therapist.

Dr. Shaina Carter, PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Shaina Carter is a licensed clinical psychologist based in Carlsbad, California. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from San Diego State University, followed by research experience at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Dr. Carter completed her doctoral training in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego and received advanced clinical training through an APA-accredited predoctoral internship program.

With a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, Dr. Carter specializes in treating active-duty military personnel, veterans, first responders, and their families. Her clinical expertise encompasses anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance use, and mood disorders. She employs a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to provide effective and compassionate care.

Dr. Kaycee Fortanasce, PsyD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Kaycee Fortanasce is a licensed clinical psychologist based in San Diego, California. She earned her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree and has extensive experience in trauma-informed care, specializing in the treatment of PTSD, chronic pain, insomnia, and anxiety. Dr. Fortanasce offers both in-person and telehealth services, providing psychological and neuropsychological assessments, as well as evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Her clinical expertise includes working with diverse populations, including military personnel and Native American communities. Dr. Fortanasce is committed to delivering compassionate, individualized care to support patients on their journey toward healing and resilience.

Dr. Gerald B. O'Day, Ph.D., QME

is a licensed clinical psychologist and Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) based in Arcadia, California. He has over 45 years of experience in mental health services, specializing in psychological evaluations for workers’ compensation cases, including Permanent and Stationary (P&S) evaluations, Agreed Medical Evaluations (AMEs), and Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs).

Dr. O’Day earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the Cambridge Graduate School of Psychology. He also holds a Standard Designated Services Credential in School Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. O’Day has worked extensively with diverse populations, including children, families, and individuals facing various mental health challenges. He has held significant roles, such as serving as a psychologist for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, providing services for chronically mentally ill patients and individuals in early treatment. Additionally, he has been involved in various educational and organizational roles, including serving as co-chair of a statewide school psychology convention and as a state board member for the California Association of School Psychology.

Danielle Word, LCSW

My name is Danielle Word, and I am so glad you are here. As a licensed therapist, I am passionate about transformation and healing. I understand that seeking therapy requires courage, and I am here to support you every step of the way on your journey toward change.

With over 13 years of extensive experience, I have had the privilege of working with children, teens, families, couples, and adults. I tailor my therapeutic approach to each individual, drawing from a variety of research-supported modalities to best fit your needs. These include Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).

I am experienced in helping individuals navigate a wide range of challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, low self-worth, and difficulties adjusting to life stressors. Zoia Vassilevskaia, PsyD

Joshua Paulos is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California and is working on licensure in other states such as New York and Washington, DC. He completed his Dual Bachelors in Psychology and Human Development with a minor in Women’s Studies as well as his Master’s in Social Work- Community Mental Health concentration all at California State University East Bay. His Bachelor degrees were completed in 2012 and his Master’s in 2015.

He is active in a variety of clinical settings and projects, all geared toward helping to heal our communities and those within them. His hobbies include financial literacy, martial arts, nature, travel, cooking, and spending time with family.

Dr. David L. Green, Ph.D.

Dr. David L. Green is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience specializing in the psychological treatment and evaluation of injured workers. Based in Walnut Creek, California, Dr. Green founded Collaborative Transformations Psychology, Inc., a practice dedicated to supporting individuals navigating the complexities of workers’ compensation cases.

Dr. Green earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Michigan State University in 1984. He further honed his expertise as a clinical fellow at the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry during the 1980s. In the mid-1980s, he served as a clinical supervisor at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Additionally, he taught assessment at the former California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles. Dr. Green has also been on the clinical faculty at Harbor-UCLA Department of Psychiatry during the mid-1980s, where he functioned as a clinical supervisor.

Throughout his career, Dr. Green has worked extensively with a diverse clientele, including first responders, healthcare workers, government employees, and laborers. His team at Collaborative Transformations Psychology includes specialists in areas such as chronic pain, PTSD, neuropsychology, addiction, and bilingual therapy. Together, they utilize evidence-based interventions to address the unique challenges faced by injured workers within the workers’ compensation system.

Dr. Green’s practice is referral-based, ensuring that each patient receives personalized care tailored to their specific needs. He and his team are committed to helping individuals achieve personal, social, and emotional stability as they navigate their recovery journey.
